Love this toy almost as much as my 4yr old son - good job as i have to do most of the transforming of it but he's getting the hang of it!
The DVD is cool to takes me right back to the 80's hehe
Wouldn't recommend any younger though cause the bits are fiddly - then they say for 5+ anyway. |

Right, this pack contains two figures, plus a DVD, this set is much better than the set produced for the Classics line.
The Optimus prime transforms into a truck, which is more modelled on the Optimus you see in the TV show in the post ep 2, he has a large axe instead of a gun and it can be attached to his rear in vehicle mode.
Movement of the figures is great with lots of a ways to move them and display them if you are that type of person.
Megatron is meant to be his Cybertron form which you see very little of in general in the show, for the most part, black. Megatron's cannon has a blade that folds over and down from one side to the other giving Megatron his so called twin sword which isn't that great unless it's on the Leader class toy of Megatron.
Transformation is relatively simple for the pair of them. DVD, it contains the very first ep of TFA, which is part one of the three-partner opener to the series: Transform and Roll out, which gives you the basic story of the cast and charaters and how they end up crash-landing on our planet earth.
The DVD is rated U if you are wondering, value for money, yeah, two figures, a 20 min adventure featuring the characters and others from the line, so yeah plus their better then the Deluxe Cybertron prime & Voyager Megatron that are separate from this pack!

ANIMATED "OPTIMUS PRIME VS MEGATRON"
|

The TRANSFORMERS brand returns to its origin as an animated series in 2008 with the debut of the new TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED series on Cartoon Network. And Hasbro helps kids take the excitement of the new series into the playroom with a full line of great new TRANSFORMERS products.
The good-guy AUTOBOTS have an unlikely guide through Earth society ... the brash, energetic 8-year-old girl named Sari Sumdac, who helps the robots establish a headquarters in an old abandoned auto parts plant and becomes an honorary AUTOBOT by enlightening the "ROBOTS IN DISGUISE" on such mysteries of Earth like mega malls, and basic `hanging out.'
Designed to introduce kids to the new world of Transformers: Animated, this two-pack includes OPTIMUS PRIME and MEGATRON figures posed in battle-ready action stances with over-sized weapons. Also included is "The Battle Begins" DVD that allows kids to preview the new cartoon and become familiar with the expanded TRANSFORMERS fantasy

| bought this toy for my 5 year old son a few months ago. dvd was fine, played well, no problems. optimus prime was very easy to transform. megatron took a bit more effort - had to follow instructions for the first time, after that it was ok, although, my son found it really tricky at first and took a while to get the hang of it. durability isn't that great. the arm of optimus prime came off in the first couple of weeks never to be seen again. the leg on megatron has come off several times when kids have gotten a little over zealous transforming it, but it goes back on quite easily. overall, quite a good toy and kids will like it. |
